ZO2- Concert Review- Dingbatz, Clifton NJ, 01/28/11

HOLY FREAKIN’ CRAP!! Is all I have to say about ZO2’s live show. I have to admit that I do not have much experience when it comes to club acts as there are very few new bands that strike my fancy, but ZO2 are one of those rare modern rock bands that really makes great music and seeing them live I can see why that is. They have a Fire and Passion that just isn’t there in more established acts and this really came out in their show.

If you are not familiar with the band they are very retro rock and the best way to describe them is kind of like a modern day Aerosmith. In 2009 they released their third album “Casino Logic” and if you listen to all their albums their is a definite progression.

Going back to their performance, although very brief due to sharing a bill with three other acts, I am happy to say they definitely know what their best material is as they hit on all of the songs from their catalogue  that I would want to hear live as well as a killer version of “Tom Sayer” sung by David Z. If You have a chance and are a fan of hard rock I recommend  seeing this band and definitely picking up their albums.
